LAS VEGAS — Shredded steel scrap exports were dealt a blow by weak Asian demand in February as volumes fell sharply from the same month last year.

Offshore sales of shredded scrap totaled 587,427 tonnes in February, down 16.9 percent from 707,103 tonnes a year earlier, according to the latest Commerce Department statistics, although up 39.1 percent from 422,372 tonnes in January. ....
