Recyclers must act to curb theft: ISRI chairman

LAS VEGAS — The scrap recycling industry "will be legislated out of business" if it doesn’t become more proactive about tackling metals theft, according to outgoing Institute of Scrap Recycling Industries’ chairman John Sacco.

Sacco issued the warning Tuesday during the opening session of the 2012 ISRI Convention and Exposition in Las Vegas, emphasizing the industry’s need to be at the forefront of compliance issues such as metals theft laws.....
