BHP Billiton Q1 iron ore output down 8% on weather disruptions

BHP Billiton, the second-largest iron ore producer in Australia, reported a drop in production during the first quarter of 2012 as a result of cyclone activity.
BHP’s production stood at 37.94 million tonnes in the quarter, down by 7.6% from the previous quarter but up by 14.2% year-on-year, according to a statement released on Wednesday April 18.
