Vale Q1 2012 pellet output reaches record 12.7 million tonnes

Vale, the world’s biggest iron ore miner, raised first-quarter production of iron ore pellet by 6.3% as it ramped up output at two new plants in Oman.
The Brazilian miner’s global output of pellet reached 12.7 million tonnes in the first three months of 2012, up from 11.9 million tonnes in the previous quarter, it said on April 18.
Nearly three-quarters of the additional output was from its two new pelletizing plants in Oman, which were launched last year.....
