Justice takes action against recycler over EPA allegations

PITTSBURGH — The U.S. Justice Department has taken legal action against an Ohio metals recycler for allegedly ignoring an order issued by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.

The Justice Department has filed a federal Clean Air Act lawsuit against Bedford Heights, Ohio-based Southeast Metals Inc. stemming from accusations by the EPA that the recycler failed to safely dispose of refrigerants, such as fluorocarbons, from vehicles and appliances.....
