PITTSBURGH Peabody Energy Corp. reported flat income on higher revenue in the first quarter, primarily due to higher operating costs, but the metallurgical coal market appears to have stabilized, which may result in a better performance in the second half of this year, the company said.
"Recent data suggest that metallurgical coal markets have stabilized with upside potential in the second half," Gregory H. Boyce, Peabodys chairman and chief executive officer, said in its earnings release this past week.....
