Ford aims to double capacity in China

CHICAGO — Ford Motor Co. will build an assembly plant in Hangzhou, China, doubling its production capacity in China to 1.2 million passenger cars annually by 2015.

Through its Changan Ford Mazda Automobile Co. Ltd. joint venture, Dearborn, Mich.-based Ford will invest $760 million in the factory, lifting the company’s total investment in China to about $4.9 billion since 2006, according to a statement from the automaker.....
