CarTech ramps up melting capacity

PITTSBURGH Carpenter Technology Corp. will have 76 remelt furnaces throughout its operations after the completion of a greenfield facility in Limestone County, Ala., boosting its melting capacity by 70 percent as it moves to support strong growth in the aerospace sector.
"Everything youve heard today and what weve heard for some time now in this industry, with the exception maybe a little bit of defense, is that things are taking off," senior vice president Andrew T. Ziolkowski said at AMMs 6th Annual Aerospace Materials Conference in Pittsburgh.....
