Kazakhmys copper cathode production falls 13% in Q1

Kazakh copper producer Kazakhmys produced 65,100 tonnes of saleable copper cathode in the first quarter, down 13% from the corresponding period of 2011, on lower copper-in-concentrate output and delays caused by furnace repairs at its Balkhash smelter.
The company remains on track, however, to deliver its target of 285,000-295,000 tonnes of copper cathode in 2012, it said.
