NEW YORK — Boeing Co.’s suppliers will face increased scrutiny as the airplane manufacturer seeks to minimize supply disruptions and contain escalating costs during the current upcycle in build rates, according to a top Boeing executive.

"We’ll be intrusive, because we can’t be exposed to all those risks," John P. Byrne, the company’s vice president of aircraft materials and structures, said at AMM’s 6th Annual Aerospace Materials Conference in Pittsburgh.....
