NEW YORK — Aluminum is holding its own against composites in the battle for aerospace material supremacy, according to Alcoa Inc.’s global marketing director for aerospace and defense, Anthony Morales.

"A number of experts are coming back and saying we may have overshot that whole thing a little," Morales said at AMM’s 6th Annual Aerospace Materials Conference in Pittsburgh, referring to some analysts’ predictions five years ago that composites would virtually eliminate aluminum’s aerospace market share. ....
