Steel mart mulls next step after ITC rejections

NEW YORK — Three recent determinations by the U.S. International Trade Commission (ITC) that steel product imports weren’t hurting U.S. industry may cause domestic producers to think twice before filing any new trade cases.

"Trade cases are a big cost in terms of company research, resources and the like. It’s very expensive and it’s a big responsibility," said Chris Wood, a partner at Washington-based Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher LLP. "I think we can see that injury cases aren’t an automatic go, and it’s never automatically affirmative before the ITC."....
