Aero demand to push aluminum plate prices up

NEW YORK Aluminum plate supply will tighten and spot prices will rise over the coming years as aircraft build rates remain strong and plate capacity is not set to drastically increase, according to an industry analyst.
"Were going to be very close to the utilization rates we saw in 06 by 2014 or 2015," the previous peak of plate demand, Lloyd T. OCarroll, senior vice president and research analyst at Richmond, Va.-based Davenport & Co. LLC, told participants at AMMs 6th Annual Aerospace Materials Conference in Pittsburgh.....
