Spot aluminum premiums hold firm on tight supply

NEW YORK Midwest spot aluminum premiums remained firm over the past week, with traders reporting solid demand from customers looking to take advantage of the declining price of aluminum on the London Metal Exchange.
Midwest spot aluminum continues to command record-high premiums of 9.75 to 10.25 cents per pound, with several participants reporting trades at 11 cents for immediate delivery.
"Were seeing healthier demand in the short-term. Consumers are coming in for more prompt shipments. Theyre low on metal," one producer source said. ....
