Brazil opens dumping investigation on non-oriented-grain steel imports from Asia

Brazil has opened an anti-dumping investigation into imports of non-oriented-grain (NOG) electrical flat steel products from China, Taiwan and South Korea.

The case was opened following a request made on November 30 last year by Aperam Inox América do Sul, which also asked Russia to be investigated.

Aperam is the sole manufacturer of such steel products in Brazil.
Russia was excluded from the investigation because its exports to Brazil represented only 1.55% its imports of NOG steel between October 2010 and September 2011, Brazil’s foreign trade secretariat, Secex, said in a report. ....
