MB APEX Q1 2012: Citigroup takes top spot for Q1 precious metals price forecasts

Analysts Heath Jansen and David Wilson, of Citigroup, have topped the overall Apex leaderboard for precious metals price forecasts in the first quarter of 2012. Jansen and Wilson came out with an overall precious metals average accuracy of 96.4%, ahead of Ian Roper, of CLSA, in second place with 96.2%, and Nick Moore, of Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS), in third with 95.5%. The Citigroup team took first place for their palladium predictions, with 98.9% accuracy, third place for their gold predictions, with 98.1% accuracy, fourth for silver, with 93.5%, and third for platinum, with 95.2%. “Three major macro-financial factors should drive gold returns for the foreseeable future: real interest rates, denomination effects from inflation and currency adjustments, and financial demand for gold as....
