NEW YORK - RG Steel LLC is implementing pay and benefit cuts for salaried employees as part of previously announced cost-cutting initiatives, a company executive told AMM.
As we continue our cost-cutting efforts, we are asking all of the salaried staff to make some concessions, the executive said. Its part of our comprehensive plan to bridge what we think will be a tough couple of months as the market rebounds.
The cuts, which might affect both salaries and matching benefits, will be implemented across the companys operations and not just at its Sparrows Point, Md., mill, he said. Unionized workers wont be affected, he added.....
