Novelis nears recycled metal target, usage hits 39%: chief

NEW YORK Novelis Inc. is "within sight" of its target of using 50-percent recycled content by 2015, president and chief executive officer Philip Martens said, adding that the company will be the largest aluminum recycler in the world within years.
The company is also on track to meet its eventual goal of using 80-percent recycled aluminum in its rolled products by 2020, a forecast made last May (AMM, May 10), Martens said Tuesday in a presentation at the CRU World Aluminum Conference in Abu Dhabi, according to a transcript of the speech sent to AMM.....
