Horsehead mulls EF dust recycling expansion

NEW YORK Horsehead Holdings Corp. is considering increasing its capacity for electric furnace (EF) dust recycling, as the company saw record levels of dust receipts in the first quarter of 2012.
Horseheads EF receipts reached a record of 165,943 tons in the three months ended March 31, or an annualized rate of 664,000 tons. The zinc company has a total capacity of around 730,000 tons per year, and president and chief executive officer Jim Hensler said it might look to rise above that in certain key regions such as....
