NEW YORK DLA Strategic Materials sold 560 short tons of low-carbon ferrochrome in April at about $1.99 per pound (chrome contained), the highest sales price achieved this year, according to AMM calculations.
The agency, which had offered 1,120 tons of low-carbon ferrochrome (0.10-percent and 0.16-percent carbon) during the month, lists sales of different grades together.
The material was bought by the Pittsburgh-based ferroalloys arm of David J. Joseph Co. (DJJ) and Buffalo, N.Y.-based ferroalloy trading house CCMA LLC for $1.48 million.....
