Gerdau slates $50M to lift SBQ output

TORONTO Gerdau SA on Monday confirmed plans to invest $50 million to replace the continuous caster at its mill in St. Paul, Minn.
The Porto Alegre, Brazil-based steelmaker said the money would boost special bar quality (SBQ) capacity to 550,000 tons per year, up 100,000 tons from current capacity levels.....
