Metals sector adds jobs, but pace slows

CHICAGO — U.S. mines, metal producers and fabricators all added jobs during April, helping to boost the nation’s manufacturing employment base by about 0.3 percent from March.

Primary metal production facilities hired 2,000 people last month and have added 21,800 people since April 2011, according to Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) data not seasonally adjusted. ....
