House hikes funding for trade enforcement

NEW YORK — The House of Representatives approved by voice vote increased funding for the Commerce Department, although the size of the increase will not be enough to pay for the Obama administration’s proposed trade enforcement task force, the White House said.
The appropriations bill (H.R.5326) funds several federal agencies for the fiscal year starting Oct. 1. If signed into law, it would provide $16.4 million for anti-dumping and countervailing duty enforcement and compliance activities by Commerce’s International Trade Administration (ITA) after an amendment by Rep. Michael Turner (R., Ohio) to add an extra $5 million....
