BlueScope has eyes on NA expansion

NEW YORK BlueScope Steel North America is considering installing a new caster and electric-arc furnace (EF) at its North Star BlueScope Steel LLC facility in Delta, Ohio, but is waiting for the market to improve before making concrete plans, a top executive said.
"Our North Star mill is now running at maximum capacity, and were looking to expand that by putting on an additional caster. Then, were looking into the possibility of expansion for our (EF). But were waiting for the right fundamentals, and the reality is that theres overcapacity in the marketplace," BlueScope Steel North America chief financial officer Adam Watson said Thursday during Houlihan Lokey Inc.s seventh annual Global Industrials Conference in New York.....
