W. Coast coil prices hit by early summer lull

LOS ANGELES The West Coast flat-rolled steel market has slowed as buyers become cautious about making commitments too far ahead.
"The summer lull has come early for us this year," according to one service center source, whose sentiment was echoed by a number of other distributors and some end-use consumers.
Buyers acknowledged their inventories are lower than theyd like under other market conditions. However, they see little incentive to build them up, especially with domestic mill delivery lead times to the West Coast in some cases reported as short as a month.....
