NEW YORK — Responsibly recycling used electronics is a matter of ensuring that untested products are recycled down to commodity levels before being exported, according to Sims Recycling Solutions Americas’ top executive.
"If the material is tested and functioning, we don’t have a problem with that product being exported. It’s a product to be used as it was originally constructed," Steve Skurnac, president of the Chicago-based company, a subsidiary of Sims Metal Management Ltd., told AMM.
