NEW YORK — U.S. ferrous scrap export prices to Turkey have fallen about $20 per tonne from the prior sale after one exporter completed North America’s only bulk sale to Turkey on Thursday.

A source at the exporter said it sold a mixed bulk cargo of 25,000 tonnes of shredded steel scrap, 20,000 tonnes of No. 1 heavy melt and 5,000 tonnes of plate and structural scrap at a composite price of $435 per tonne c.f.r. Turkey.

With the shredded component estimated at around $435 per tonne c.f.r, it marks a $20-per-tonne drop from the prior East Coast sale to Turkey a week earlier, when shred sold at around $455 per tonne (AMM, May 8).....
