TORONTO — ALJ Regional Holdings Inc. posted stronger results in its fiscal first half as sales volumes and prices jumped compared with the same period a year earlier.

The Ashland, Ky.-based parent of Kentucky Electric Steel LLC (KES) posted net income of $3.1 million for the three months ended March 31, up 35.7 percent from last year, on sales that increased 10.2....
