Canadian recycler sees fire costing in excess of $978,000

PITTSBURGH Calgary Metal Recycling Inc. expects costs affiliated with a fire that began at the end of April and lasted nearly two weeks to reach more than Canadian $1 million ($978,000).
"This was a very unique fire for Calgary and, to our knowledge at this time, in Canada," the local fire department said of the blaze, which started April 30. As a result of the fire, the city was forced to institute an emergency plan and maintain a temporary post near the recycler through May....
