Infrastructure spending will likely fall: IHS Global Insight

DALLAS — Fiscal troubles and government gridlock have thrown the fate of the infrastructure construction sector into doubt, according to one analyst.

"Infrastructure is the big one . . . where we have a lot of uncertainty," Jeannine Cataldi, a senior economist for IHS Global Insight’s construction services group, said at the Wire Rod Supply Chain Conference in Dallas sponsored by AMM and the American Wire Producers Association. Indeed, IHS Global Insight predicts reduced infrastructure spending levels "for the foreseeable future," she said.....
