NEW YORK Production costs for Chinese nickel pig iron (NPI) could rise in the second half of the year as an export tax on nickel ore from Indonesia kicks in, according to an analyst.
"We estimate that laterite ore price inflation could drive NPI average costs up to $17,400 per tonne," Barclays Capital Inc. analyst Nicholas Snowdon wrote Tuesday.....
