Lead scrap prices defy LME drop; zinc steady

NEW YORK Lead scrap traders remain perplexed by steady free-market prices that have defied the recent drop in primary metal on the London Metal Exchange, while zinc scrap tags also were unchanged this week.
Whole auto battery prices widened to 41 to 44 cents per pound from last weeks appraised price of 42 to 44 cents per pound.....
