TORONTO Welded Tube of Canada Ltd. is considering Lackawanna, N.Y., as a potential site for a new welded pipe mill serving the energy market, a company executive and local development official told AMM Thursday.
But Lackawanna is one of three options, and no decision has yet been made, according to Jef Fry, senior manager of energy tubulars at the Concord, Ontario-based company.
All locations under consideration are in southern Ontario or the northeastern United States, he said, declining to identify the other potential sites. Fry also wouldnt provide a price tag for the project, saying that would depend on which site was chosen.....
