Missouri recycler added to lawsuit alleging scrap fraud

PITTSBURGH — A Missouri recycler has been accused of buying large quantities of stolen rail scrap and writing checks directly to the seller, a violation of state law, according to court documents.
St. Joseph-based Midwest Scrap Management Inc. has been added as a defendant—along with Charles Mader, Black Boot Properties LLC and Mader’s Razorback Rail Services Inc.—in a lawsuit filed by Kansas City Terminal Railway Co. (KCT) in Jackson County, Mo., circuit court.....
