NEW YORK Steel traders continue to take on new roles, including depot sales, as they adapt to a changing market environment, according to the head of the American Institute for International Steel (AIIS).
The persistence of the "Great Recession" has spurred traders to move beyond their traditional functions, AIIS chairman John Foster told AMM.
"We as traders have had to add more value," said Foster, who is also president and chief executive officer of trading house Coutinho & Ferrostaal Inc.s North American division.....
