OTTAWA Demand for automotive castings in North America could rise by 50 percent from current levels by 2025 despite the auto industry shifting more of its aluminum mix to primary aluminum, according to an industry analyst.
A rise in auto output will continue to drive demand for secondary aluminum castings even as its overall share in light vehicle production loses some ground to primary aluminum, Michael Southwood, a senior consultant at CRU Group, told delegates at the Canadian Association of Recycling Industries (Caris) annual convention.....
