NEW YORK — Orbite Aluminae Inc. has signed a memorandum of understanding with India’s National Aluminium Co. Ltd. (Nalco) with regards to Orbite’s new red mud technology.
Montreal-based Orbite said it has discovered a way of producing alumina using a combination of red mud and low-grade bauxite (AMM, June 21). Orbite and Nalco will evaluate the new technology using Nalco’s ores, gibbsite and boehmite, and red mud residue, Orbite said. ....
