Piling distributor sues Nucor-Yamato

NEW YORK — Steel piling and pipe distributor JD Fields & Co. Inc. has filed a complaint against Nucor-Yamato Steel Co., alleging the steelmaker offered preferential pricing to customer Skyline Steel LLC, resulting in estimated damages to JD Fields of at least $40 million.
Nucor-Yamato has denied the claims. "We see no merit to this case. We are investigating the allegations, and will vigorously defend against them," a spokeswoman for Charlotte, N.C.-based parent company Nucor Corp. told AMM in an e-mail.....
