Trucking fleets sign on to use natural gas

NEW YORK — Five major trucking firms, including automotive shipper Lily Transportation Corp., have signed on with Clean Energy Fuels Inc. to power a portion of their fleets with natural gas.

Seal Beach, Calif.-based Clean Energy has built 18 liquid and compressed natural gas fueling stations along major ground shipping routes and is on track to complete 70 by the end of this year, according to Greg Roche, vice president of national accounts and infrastructure.

In addition to Needham, Mass.-based Lily, Saddle Creek Logistics Services, Premier Transportation, Hoopes Turf Farm’s Transport Division and Lancaster Foods have signed on to run regional and national trucks on natural gas from Clean Energy’s stations.....
