NEW YORK — U.S. bulk ferrous scrap exports to Turkey resumed Tuesday after a five-day lull, with prices trending slightly softer, AMM understands.

Market participants in the United States and Turkey confirmed that three cargoes sold just ahead of the Independence Day holiday, although only one was shipped off the East Coast.

Sources said one exporter sold 10,000 tonnes of an 80/20 mix of No. 1 and No. 2 heavy melt scrap at $381 per tonne c.f.r. Turkey and 25,000 tonnes of shredded scrap at $386 per tonne—about $2 per tonne lower than last week’s East Coast sales to Turkey at $383 per tonne c.f.r. for HMS 1&2 (80:20)....
