Steel demand forecast for Latin America revised down

SÃO PAULO, Brazil Latin American steel association Alacero has revised downward its forecast for finished steel consumption in the region for both 2012 and 2013 due to uncertainties in the global economy.
Consumption is expected to reach 62 million tonnes in 2012, up 5.5 percent compared with 2011 levels but down from the 62.8 million tonnes that the association had predicted in April.....
