Russia suspension agreement talks continue

NEW YORK — Talks between the United States and Russia over a decision to revoke an existing hot-rolled steel suspension agreement are continuing, a U.S. Commerce Department official told AMM.

The Commerce Department announced earlier this year its intent to terminate the agreement—under which hot-rolled steel from Russia is not subject to U.S. import duties provided it is below a certain annual volume threshold and above a certain quarterly pricing point—because it does not prevent undercutting of domestic prices (AMM, May 30).....
