Industrial titanium demand slipping

NEW YORK — Demand for industrial titanium sheet and plate is slipping again as the global economic slowdown has resulted in fewer major infrastructure projects, which support the market.

Lead times for non-aerospace titanium plate have been reported as low as eight to nine weeks—or even less, in certain cases—compared with deliveries of more than 20 weeks about 18 months ago, when projects in emerging markets drove demand. ....
