CHICAGO Uncertainties about steel pricing, the upcoming elections and concerns about a sluggish economy have put a damper on some of the enthusiasm metal stampers, roll-formers and blank manufacturers expressed during the first half of the year.
"Our first half was good but things seem to be softer for the third quarter by about 15 percent," the national sales manager for an Ohio Valley company that performs stamping and subassembly work told AMM Monday. "Were normally only 5 percent down in the third quarter so there is something other than seasonal (influences) going on."....
