Chinese exports of refined copper slide 65.3% in June

SHANGHAI, China — China’s refined copper exports fell 65.3 percent in June as Chinese smelters halted deliveries after London Metal Exchange copper prices declined.

Refined copper exports hit 35,477 tonnes last month, down from a record 102,374 tonnes in May, when Chinese smelters pledged to export in order to unwind short positions on the LME, according to Chinese customs figures.....
