Norilsk 2d-qtr. output down on short feedstock deliveries

LONDON — Nickel production by OAO MMC Norilsk Nickel slid 8.2 percent in the second quarter compared with the first three months of the year as the company suffered short deliveries of feedstock to its refinery in Harjavalta, Finland.

Production fell to 69,639 tonnes from 75,824 tonnes, dragged down by a 39-percent plunge to 7,909 tonnes at Harjavalta and a 4-percent dip to 56,463 tonnes at the Moscow-based company’s Polar and Kola divisions in Russia. ....
