General Moly projects higher capital costs for Mount Hope

NEW YORK — General Moly Inc. has revised projected capital costs for its Mount Hope molybdenum mine in Nevada upward to $1.28 billion, an 11.3-percent increase from its 2009 forecast due largely to permitting delays and regulatory requirements.

Costs related to permitting rose 48.5 percent to $251 million from the company’s initial estimates, the Lakewood, Colo.-based company said. ....
