Nickel premiums rise in Europe, fall in China

LONDON — Nickel premiums rose in Europe this week, but Chinese premiums continued to fall amid weak demand.

Market participants in Europe reported higher business volumes across all grades of material. The daily nickel premium, in-warehouse Rotterdam, of AMM sister publication Metal Bulletin rose to $155.92 per tonne on at the start of this week, up from $123.27 per tonne on July 24.

Premiums for uncut material are at $20 to $100 per tonne compared with $30 to $50 per tonne last week. Most business reported is greater than $50 per tonne.....
