Gerdau resumes Mexican steel plant project

SÃO PAULO, Brazil Gerdau SA has resumed a joint-venture project to build a greenfield steel plant in Mexico with a capacity to produce 1 million tonnes of crude steel and 700,000 tonnes of structural profiles per year, it said Thursday.
Expected to cost 1.1 billion reais ($536 million), Gerdau Corsa is scheduled to come online in the second half of 2014, the Brazilian steelmaker said.....
