NEW YORK Nearly 700 employees at Constelliums Ravenswood, W.Va., aluminum rolling mill went on strike Sunday after failing to reach a new labor agreement.
Constellium representatives and leaders of the United Steelworkers union Local 5668, which represents the Ravenswood workers, met Saturday in a last-ditch effort to hash out a new five-year contract at the request of the Federal Mediation and Conciliation Service.
After the parties failed to reach an agreement, some 694 workers officially went on strike at 12:01 a.m. Sunday.....
